We are working to financially build up the ex-slave families by giving them opportunities to earn sustainable incomes. Some ways that we can help to increase earnings are: microloans, gifts of livestock and other micro-industry opportunities like welding and making cement blocks for raised platform houses.

 

Long term, this strategy will provide an independent support base for the schools and help us reach the goal of making the them self-sufficient within 10 years.

The gift of a goat or piglet can help a family lift themselves out of poverty by providing an income source. A healthy goat can have two to three kids each year and a healthy piglet can be sold for three times its value in one year.
